Product
- What does Catalot actually do?
- You upload up to five photographs of an object and add a note if you have one. Catalot returns a catalogue title, a descriptive paragraph, materials, style and period, marks, a condition narrative, visible dimensions and keywords — in English and French — which you then edit and save to your catalogue.
- How long does one notice take?
- Around twenty seconds from the moment you press Write the notice. A sale of three hundred lots is an afternoon of photographs and a morning of corrections rather than a fortnight of writing.
- Do I need an account to try it?
- No. The public demo runs a real generation with no account and no card. If you sign up afterwards, that notice is claimed into your new catalogue.
- Can several people in the house use it?
- The Free and Cabinet plans are single-seat. Maison includes three seats. If you need more, write to contact@catalot.pro.
Nº 02
Writing quality
- Does Catalot value or authenticate objects?
- Never. It writes descriptions. Estimates, attributions and authenticity remain entirely with your specialists, and the engine is instructed to refuse them.
- What happens when the photographs are ambiguous?
- It hedges the way a cataloguer does — probably, apparently, in the manner of — rather than inventing certainty. Dimensions are given only when legible in the image; otherwise the field reads not visible.
- Can I make it sound like our house?
- Yes. Describe your cataloguing tone in your house-style profile — sentence length, how you handle condition, whether you use French terms in English notices — and every notice is written to match it.
- Is the French translated from the English?
- No. Both versions are written natively from the same photographs, so the French reads as a French cataloguer would write it, not as an English notice run through a translator.

Photos & privacy
- Where are my photographs stored?
- In a private bucket tied to your account. They are readable only through short-lived signed links used to write your notice; no one browsing the internet can reach them.
- Are my images used to train models?
- No. They are sent to the vision model to write your notice and for nothing else. We do not sell, publish or license your photographs.
- Can I delete a lot?
- Yes, at any time, from the lot itself. The notice and its photographs go with it. Ask us to close your account and everything is removed from our systems.
- What are the file limits?
- Up to five photographs per lot, each up to 8 MB, in JPG, PNG, WebP or HEIC. Images are reduced to 1600 pixels on the long edge before upload.

Plans & billing
- Is the free plan really free?
- Yes — ten notices a month, forever, with both languages, editing and CSV export. No card is required to open an account or to run the demo.
- What counts as one lot?
- One generation, whatever the number of photographs. Editing a saved notice costs nothing; asking Catalot to rewrite it counts as a new lot.
- How do I change plan?
- Email contact@catalot.pro and we switch you the same day, up or down. There is no contract and no notice period.
- Do you issue invoices?
- Yes, a French invoice for every payment, with your house's details and VAT number, sent by email.
